Maybe they're holding it back for Version 3. What if he is now going to be a transformer. Wouldn't it be cool if he came with two bottom halfs, so you could attach a segway wheel or legs. 2 choices for mobility (fast and slow).

Does anyone why the Peabot was put on hold?
I highly doubt that. You probably can't just attach segway wheels. There would be too many technological hurdles to overcome.
I believe the problem was the cost, they were unable to simply and reduce the cost of the components.
Proboably, segway technology has almays been expensive. A miniature version would probably cost even more
A two wheeled robot that was shown at CES 2006. But never made it through due to cost problems.
I saw a picture man, I sure would like to get my hands on one of those
robo peace
The peabot is not completely cancelled, just put on hold pending a new approach. So there is still hope!

I think that the PEA-bot would have been the only usefull commercial robot at low price because it would have been connected directly to INTERNET and we could fetch the information wished.. then with the segway technology it would have been at state-of-art...... I would have payed also 600 $ for it!!!!!!! I do not undestand why wowwee abandoned the project!!!!!!
No you an't Fool! I'am! I think the Pea bot migh be Released In A different Section Of wowwee Like Wowwee For Adults..

Coolkid, You have some very nice fantasies.
I, for one, would rather that you keep them to yourself.
