I recently purchased the RS Media and have to say it really is fun to use.I'm not too happy about the battery life though.Pretty expensive to keep it running. So I bought a mains adapter for Robo.I made sure it's the right voltage 7.5 and it's all the right connnections. But he seems to cut out after a while and reboot himself.Am I doing something wrong.Do I need an official mains adapter for the Robot? If so,where could I buy one? Are rechargeble batteries any good with the Robot? Many thanks.

Check the current rating for the mains adapter, it should be 3.5amps or above.

I have also recently purchased an RS Media. I did not even bother about purchasing "normal" batteries, just spent the extra and purchased rechargeable. Only played with it for about 1/2 hour so far, seems to be fine.

I think I'll purchase rechargeable batteries. As batteries don't last so long it's probably better that way. Thanks for the info guys. Laughing

Hi, I purchased rechargeable but the mistake that I made was buying a very low mA/h rating. I need to recharge my baterries after every hour or so. The cost factor is always an issue, the higher mA/h rated batteries are much more and again you land up spending a whole lot of cash for batteries as RS takes a good few.

Can they not come up with a build in battery pack that we can charge from the wall socket, I am sure that is not very hard to buid into the robo. We should suggest this to WowWee

I'm sure it has occured to them, since people have been asking them if its possible to use rechargeables all the way back to the original RoboSapiens. I personally think its a cost issue. building in rechargable batteries and supplying a charger would increase the overall cost of the robot. Though they may be heading in that direction, since the RS Media can be powered externally (thats only a step away from charging batteries from external power, and a possible hack someone might want to try).

While my RS Media robot is pluged in charging device, all time rebooting right after booting procedure is complited. In a battery mode booting going normaly.

Adapter 7,5 V. Without batteries in legs.

Please help.

It sounds like your Adapter isn't able to handle the current load. WowWee recommends as 3.5amp power pack.
