Just fixed a problem with button "Say Cheese"and also the ability to sabe new buttons for text to speech.

 I am using Firmware 5.0

If you have downloaded the application or are going to, please send some feedback my way. Also, looking for Ideas for new version.

 Known Issues:

1. If you click on any other button other than connect before connection it will give you an error. You can click continue and then connect.
- To be fixed

2. If you get static on text to speech, please reboot rovio to clear buffer and then open application. This should fix this issue.

I'm running version 5.0. Speech is only static. I'm running XP SP2, .net 3.5

Ok, try this. Reboot rovio, when rovio on green, then open the application. Exit the application only by using the exit button. Always close the application using the exit button, this button will clean the audio buffer on exit. This si a workaround for firmware issues of static. let me know how it goes.

hmmm. Same result. Turned off rovio for 30 seconds. turned back on, waited for green light. started app. tested 'say cheese'. only got static. exited app, opened app, tried again. same result.

What firmware version you haveon your rovio?

Version: v5.00 Base Build: v5.3131 | TrueTrack: v5.13.201

Lets try something diferent. Reboot rovio, open the application, log in, dont press anything else, close it using Alt-F4, open again, login and press then press the speen btn. I want to see if exiting the application without cleraing the bufer helps. The problem is that when the application was built on Firmwares over 4.00 it would send static. so I did a clear buffer on exit to help solve this. It looks like your Rovio is out of sync with my app. try this and let me know how it goes.

ok, i downloaded and installed the speech sdk 5.1. I ran a test with the vb simple tts. It worked. I then tried the scenario above with rovio. Only static. Does rovio remote need some path variable set?

March 31, 2010 3:00 PM

no no need for path variable set. What version of RovioRemote you have/ where did you download from?

Guys ???
Is here enyone else inthe forum having the same issue ????

This is the only time I hear of this unmanagable static on the application.

i have found that if i decrease the volume to 1, it is almost understandable...

April 5, 2010 8:47 AM

I have installed the SDK but I can't get the speech to work at all. No static....nothing. The app starts and the speech just doesn't work. I am running your latest version and the most current firmware.

Any advice?

April 9, 2010 12:56 AM

I've also downloaded the sdk but I'm not getting any speech. Obviously i'm doing something wrong. I'll keep trying. Besides that, it's a great application I'm running it on my xp netbook.

April 9, 2010 8:50 AM

FreddyA Make sure that you have the same port configured in both the rovio ant the application.

I can communicate with Rovio over ports 80 and 554 on my internal network and all the other apps also work using those ports, but is there an additional port for speech? I seem to be missing something in this equation. Thanks

April 9, 2010 10:00 AM

no,no additional port. I am using por 8080. I configured port 8080 on my rovio configuration webpage and just use the 8080 on my app.

I am getting the same problem... Sounds like loud static followed by very, very low speech. It does seem like keeping the volume lowers the static, but the volume on the speech is always low. This app is very cool though.. Are you looking for help... at all with it?

April 9, 2010 12:50 PM

regreen, this could be a firmware issie. I developed this app using 5.00 firmware. Try rebooting your rovio and then opening the app. Let me know how it goes?
