Good news for RS Media Windows Vista users --
WowWee will be releasing a Vista patch in the very near future which addresses a lot of the problems users have been having with the RS Media Editing Suite on Windows Vista platforms.
Stay tuned...

Is this vista patch the RS Media 2.1 suite?

Correct. It'll be out within the next week or so.

Michelle,
I don't think version 2.1 is the vista patch... I just downoaded that plus directx 10 and whatever else the wowwee support site said. The program WILL NOT open! This is the error that appears as I try to open the program:
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id=0x17b1 (6064), Thread id=0x16a4 (5796).
What is this? I am running on vista home premium

I think the most errors posted are in Windows XP (and most have XP not Vista). The Beta Test and all the errors are posted for Windows XP so Vista Upgrade ?!?! I just can not get it!
The solving is to buy Vista now?!?!?!?!??!
(If that version will work like these ... )

The update isn't available yet -- it'll be out by the beginning of next week!
And it should solve the XP problems as well.

I impulsively purchased a RS Media because I was impressed by a demo. I also have a new pc running Vista, my old one runnning XP is fried so I can't use it. Before I install any software I wan't to be clear that it will work because I checked the Support site, which doesn't say anything about using Vista, which lead me to here where I see there are several issues regarding this. My question is can I still operate the RS Media using the Media Editiing Suite on a pc running Vista before the patch? I admit I'm not technical enough to understand a lot of what I am reading here but I hope this is one way of learning. I hope this works because I am very excited about using the RS Media.
I also impulsively purchased a Robopet, Roboraptor, Roboreptile and Robobquad at the same time. I took the Robopet yesterday to the Alzheimers facility that my Dad is in and the residents, and staff, love it. I heard one of the residents say a complete sentence to the Robopet, I haven't heard this resident articulate a complete sentence in the year that my Dad has been there. I hope to do the same with the RS Media.
Also, just to let someone know, I have been trying to call the 800 # for days and can't get through.
I have a vista pc and the media suite won't even open! the wowwee rep on this site told us the patch would be available at the begining of this week, but nope! I also tried emailing wowwee 5 days ago and surprise, nothing. I've got to say that my faith in this company is really shaken after this whole experience. It's not a cheap robot and the fact that they would put out such a GOD AWFUL piece of software with it speaks volumes about what they think of their customers. Unless this whole situation gets rectified VERY SOON I will lose all my faith in this company and vow to never give them a dime of my money. Pleo may be expensive, but at least it actually works like its supposed to. I can't even work teh media suite properly on my XP pc! Come on wowee, you're really letting us down here.

MoreCowbell -- the current version should run on Vista if your system meets the minimum requirements. The installation should be simple -- just follow the on-screen instructions that appear in the installation wizard.
Also -- that's fantastic news about the robots at the facility!! It's great to hear stories like that! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Michelle, I'll give it a try. If it works like I hope I'll let you know how it goes over in the Alzheimers unit.
Sure thing -- you can message me at anytime by clicking on my avatar.
