As you know, Arad Productions is making a Robosapien movie that promises to be released in the next year or so.  These are the same folks that brought us Spiderman, X-Men, Bratz, etc.

RoboCommunity has learned some insights into the nature and plot of the upcoming movie.  According to variety.com, the movie will be a new twist on the Pinocchio legend in which "a childless inventor who creates a substitute son."

In the movie, a robotics scientist spends his life using robotics and artificial intelligence to help mankind, only to find out that his company plans to use his creations for military application.  So, he steals one of his robots and runs away.  The robot ends up in the hands of a lonely and underprivilged 11-year-old, and they set out together on a series of adventures.  I agree with Firefox.com in that it sounds like the movie will include overtones of "Small Soldiers" and "D.A.R.Y.L."  And I'm hoping for a splash of Toy Story as well.

The toy robot in the move is to be based on the RS Media ... WowWee's latest in the Robosapien line.  The script is by Avi Arad and Max Botkin.  Sean McNamara will be directing.
