2009 WowWee FlyTech Videos: Crash FX, Skyhopper, Hoverpod, & Lightstar

If you're like me, you've been dying to take to the skies in WowWee's new FlyTech lineup for this year.  Just freshly released are some tantalizing previews of these innovative new airborne toys.

Skyhopper

The Skyhopper is very similar in construction to the Dragonfly, but features a "hybrid insect design" that can hop over obstacles, land, and take off on its own with "legs."  Watch for this one at the WowWee official website.

Crash FX

The Crash FX r/c aircraft are designed to be easily snapped back together after getting into some spectacular mid-air crashes.  Of course, you can crash it anywhere you like!  Fly two at once for races or duels.  You can see a more detailed preview here and purchase from the Community Store or the WowWee official site.  Suggested MSRP is USD $29.99.

Hoverpod

Glide across smooth surfaces and low-pile carpet with the FlyTech Hoverpod!  Super fast and nimble, the Hoverpod is perfect for wicked drifts and head-to-head races.  See our preview here.  The Hoverpod is available now for an MSRP of $19.99 - order at the Community Store or the WowWee official site.

Lightstar

The Bladestar's smaller cousin sports colorful lights that dance in the air... like your own personal UFO!  Easy to control and fun to watch, the Lightstar is great budget flying fun at a suggested MSRP of USD $19.99.  You can pick up one of your own at the Community Store or the WowWee official site.

The SkyHopper looks pretty cool and better than the DF since it has the tail mod done on it and also can take off from the ground "a BIG plus in my books".

LightStar I have 2 of them but had only opened up one to see how it works and if there would be any hack that can be done but none that I can see or come up with. I love flying it in the dark the lights are just way too cool..

The Crash FX, well what can I say, I want one..

The HoverPod, I have 2 of them and love them. Very fast on tile but also very sensitive in turning so you have to practice on this one for awhile. Plus getting ready for it's first mod unless someone beats me to it.

I like them. The Skyhopper is so cool. My Flytech Dragonfly broke, but it was mostly 'cause I wanted to try to land it.
Crash FX, AWESOME. I mean, something BUILT for crashing, Wowwee knows what everyone will eventually do at least once with their flying toy.
I'm getting a Hoverpod, looks cool.
Ya, Lightstar is awesome, because it's smaller.

Let us know how you like the HoverPod when you get one. I love mine and I still need to get a good video of them racing. As the LightStar, running 2 at the same time in the dark is one really cool sight to see. On my next payday which is this Friday, I'm going to pick up a Crash FX and just see what type of damage I can do with it, hehe

Commander when you first start it off make sure it will move straight and if it slides to the left move that center air flow wing to the right so it will reduce the air flow on the right side and thus moving more air to the left side. It's a little tricky to get it just right but still it fun.
